I can plan for the future of course! But the future doesn’t actually exist, I can only apply my action right here, right now. And the action that I take this very moment, is what creates my next moment. – pierre –

The future is not a thing that exists, NOW is the only existence we have. Yet the eternal present moment is always in motion, and we will meet an older version of ourselves year after year. The only way that we can take care of the older version of ourselves – who we will inevitably meet – IS by doing our best right now. – pierre –

Of course it’s true that you couldn’t swim in any direction of your choosing without actually taking action. The thing is though, that you wouldn’t even learn how to swim without first surrendering yourself to the water, allowing your body to be held by the water. Loving from our Ego equals wanting, needing, a desire to possess, to become somehow more by adding something from the outside. And so what “falling in love” often really means, is that my Ego’s “wanting” has become even bigger! – pierre –

But even though you can never lose love and it can never leave you, you can absolutely feel disconnected from the love that is “somewhere” inside of you. And being disconnected from love can certainly feel like hate, and apathy, and… fear. Definitely FEAR. Feeling disconnected from love is a scary place to be and then, is it any wonder the lengths that people will go to in order to try and reach for something or someone to try and feel connected to love again? – pierre –

The way in which we come to the realization that we are not our thoughts and emotions is not by avoiding these feelings, but by witnessing these experiences as they are happening, and finding that the witnessing is done by the part of me that sees from a higher vantage point. When you step into silence, you step out of conditioning and into witnessing. While you’re spending time in silence you become more of an observer, and you start to observe how the conditioning plays out. From the moment you were born until now, your brain has been creating a recording, and everything you “know”, everything you’re “certain” of is in that recording – what are you able to create from what is known, from your recording? From what is known you can only create the same, you can only recreate the past again and again. You have to become brave enough to step into the unknown, because we can create the new only from what is not known to us yet. It’s only when we let go of certainty and embrace the unknown that we are able to create what is new for us. – pierre –

There lives within you, both a scared human and also a Fearless Creator and you get to choose who is in the driver’s seat. Understand this though! If you are at war with yourself you only guarantee that your most fearful parts will fight for control of the wheel. – pierre –

You are beautifully designed in all perfection. Everything you think and feel is exactly as it should be for the life experiences you have had. Your body and mind is responding to your environment in the way it was designed to, by figuring out a way to cope, a way to survive. The survival part of our human psyche is tasked with keeping us alive, steering us away from what it perceives as danger and towards safety – and the harder we resist and fight the fear in this inner protector, the more scared it becomes. Having acceptance for our “worst” parts and allowing them to “speak” doesn’t mean that we’re putting our shadow in the driver’s seat, but it does mean we understand that these parts of us are really just scared and trying to find a way to survive. Many of us have experienced moments of disconnection, when life feels hollow despite everything we have. We’ve heard people say, “I feel like there is a hole inside of me that I have been trying to fill, but nothing seems to do the job”. This void isn’t a sign of lack but of misalignment, it means they are unaware of the presence of the guiding force that their soul offers. It’s as if the fearful Ego believes it is completely alone on this voyage, and solely responsible for captaining this vessel through the storms, oblivious to the presence and wisdom it has only to surrender to. – pierre –

Like all biological creatures, a big part of what keeps us alive are the patterns created in our subconscious and embedded in our bodies, ready to fire in an instant to steer us toward safety and away from danger. Having these patterns is what makes us similar to our animal friends, but it is our ability to step completely out of our patterns and take a look at them that makes us uniquely different from all other life forms on this planet. Why would we want to teach our children good values and why would we want to create great societies? It’s because we would love to live in a world where we can just let our guard down and love the humans around us, while we trust that they would do for us the same. We forget this though. When we’re communicating with our fellow humans, our own level of evolution will determine whether we call forward their ego or their higher wisdom. We can’t force anyone to step up to their higher-self, but when we are still suffering from our own woundedness, then our reactivity will almost always trap the other person in a defensive – egoic response. When we become free from our own wounds, we give everyone around us the space to be free. – pierre –
