“Your Daily Dose” is a quick two minute read packed with bite-sized wisdom from all the great teachers. But you could also choose to turn it into something more… a powerful daily practice for personal growth. Give it a try!
A message from today’s meditation:
What are you creating this week? Elizabeth Gilbert kickstarts today’s journey with a reminder that we are all Fearless Creators, sculpting our world with every breath –
“Do whatever brings you to life, then. Follow your own fascinations, obsessions, and compulsions. Trust them. Create whatever causes a revolution in your heart.” – Elizabeth Gilbert
“The universe buries strange jewels deep within us all, and then stands back to see if we can find them.” – Elizabeth Gilbert
“A creative life is an amplified life. It’s a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life. Living in this manner – continually AND STUBBORNLY bringing forth the jewels that are hidden within you – is a fine art, in and of itself.” – Elizabeth Gilbert
“So this, I believe, is the central question upon which all creative living hinges: Do you have the courage to bring forth the treasures that are hidden within you?” – Elizabeth Gilbert
Don’t get stuck in the paradigm that creativity is confined to canvases and manuscripts – that to create means that I have to step back from a painting or a book in order to say, “look I created this!”
We are all creating all the time. How you are “being,” creates your connection to the humans and the world around you, and those hidden jewels are not limited to a talent with a paintbrush or a pen but also the ability to listen, to be organized or simply not to judge this human in front of you who is already being vulnerable.
Organize your cluttered desk with passion, tend to your garden with love, engage in conversations with genuine curiosity – these are the brushstrokes of your unique creative journey, and just a few examples of how your very presence shapes the world around you.
Guiding mantras for living creatively:
- Fuel your fascinations. What makes your heart sing? Chase it, unapologetically.
- Embrace the everyday. Every act, big or small, can be a creative masterpiece.
- Be present, be kind, be you. That’s your most luminous creation.
- Embrace the weird. Your “strange jewels” are what make you captivating.
So, Fearless Creator. The universe buried strange jewels in you too! Will you have the courage to bring forth these treasures that are hidden within you?
Have an awesome week!

Practice the “Daily Dose”
Let’s put it into practice! Choose what works for you – daily, once a week or whenever inspiration strikes. Putting pen to paper wires the neural pathways that will create your new habits.
1 – Affirmation
Write down your favourite affirmation on a sticky note and place it somewhere that you’ll be able to see it the whole day.
2 – A moment of reflection
Use today’s question as a journal prompt. If you don’t have the time to sit down and write, just take a moment to reflect on your response.
The Revolution in Your Heart: Gilbert encourages us to create “whatever causes a revolution in your heart.” When was the last time you felt that kind of internal revolution—that stirring of passion, purpose, or deep alignment? What sparked it, and what would it take to cultivate more of those revolutionary moments in your daily existence?
3 – Quotes to share
Send a quote to someone who needs it, or share them all on social media to spread the good vibes!

4 – Q&A for deeper learning
Read through the questions and answers and write down at least one “aha moment” that clicked for you.
Q1: Isn’t creativity something you’re either born with or not? How can everyone be creative?
A: Creativity isn’t a rare talent possessed by a gifted few—it’s a fundamental aspect of being human. We’re all creating constantly through how we live, connect, and engage with the world. Your creativity might not look like painting or writing, but it could manifest through problem-solving, building relationships, organizing spaces, or simply being fully present. The question isn’t whether you’re creative, but whether you’re willing to recognize and honor the ways you already create.
Q2: I have a demanding job and family responsibilities. How can I possibly live a “creative life” with so little free time?
A: Creative living isn’t about carving out hours for artistic pursuits—it’s about infusing creativity into what you’re already doing. When you approach your work with curiosity, engage with your family with genuine presence, or organize your home with care and intention, you’re living creatively. It’s about the quality of attention you bring to your existing life, not adding more activities to an already full schedule.
Q3: What if my “strange jewels” seem weird or impractical? Won’t people judge me?
A: Your strange jewels—those quirky interests, unconventional perspectives, or unique abilities—are precisely what make you interesting and valuable. Yes, some people might not understand them, but those aren’t your people. When you have the courage to bring forth what’s authentically you, you give others permission to do the same. You’ll also attract people who appreciate and resonate with your true self rather than a carefully edited version.
Q4: How do I know what my “hidden treasures” are if I haven’t discovered them yet?
A: Your hidden treasures reveal themselves through what captures your attention and what brings you alive. Pay attention to your fascinations, even the ones that seem silly or impractical. Notice when you lose track of time or feel energized rather than drained. Your treasures are often found in the intersection of what you love doing and what comes naturally to you—sometimes it comes so naturally that you don’t recognize it as special.
Q5: What’s the difference between creative living and just living mindfully or intentionally?
A: They’re deeply interconnected. Creative living is intentional living with an emphasis on bringing forth what’s uniquely yours—your perspectives, gifts, and ways of engaging with the world. While mindfulness focuses on present-moment awareness, creative living asks you to actively shape your experience and contribute something of yourself. It’s mindfulness plus expression, presence plus participation.
Q6: I tried to be more creative before and it didn’t work out. How do I overcome that fear of failure?
A: Gilbert addresses this directly—creative living requires stubbornness. It’s not about achieving specific outcomes or meeting external standards of success. It’s about persistently bringing forth what’s inside you regardless of results. Reframe “failure” as data: what did that experience teach you about yourself? The courage to create isn’t about ensuring success; it’s about valuing the act of creation itself more than the fear of judgment.
Q7: Can I really make an impact through small, everyday acts of creativity, or should I be doing something bigger?
A: Your everyday acts of creativity—how you listen, organize, connect, and show up—create ripples you may never fully see. A conversation where you truly listen might change someone’s entire day or even trajectory. The way you bring care to mundane tasks models something valuable for those around you. Don’t underestimate the cumulative impact of consistently bringing your best, most alive self to ordinary moments. These small acts are the foundation of a creative life, not a consolation prize for not doing “something bigger.”
