You can live for the survival of this body, or you can live for the full expression of this soul.

“Your Daily Dose” is a quick two minute read packed with bite-sized wisdom from all the great teachers. But you could also choose to turn it into something more… a powerful daily practice for personal growth. Give it a try!

A message from today’s meditation:

Body and soul – two sides of the same coin while we’re having our human experience. The first is impatient, often loud, always demanding attention because it is concerned with the very important work of staying alive. The second is slower, found in silence, always present because there’s nowhere else to run to in the eternal present moment.

“The purpose of soul questions is to open yourself deeper and deeper until all that is left is the power and beauty you are bringing into the world.” – Gary Zukav

There is a part of you that is eternal. Unlike your body it has no shelf-life, it has seen it all come and also seen most of it go. This wisdom of the ages is always available to you if you will practice listening.

“Spiritual growth requires the development of inner knowing and inner authority. It requires the heart, not the intellect.” – Gary Zukav

“If you are fully aligned with your soul it will be your pleasure, your joy to always move toward cooperation, toward sharing, toward reverence for life. You will not be torn.” – Gary Zukav

“When the personality comes fully to serve the energy of its soul, that is authentic empowerment” – Gary Zukav

There is work to do though…

The loudest voice within you is usually not the sound of your soul, but fear shouting. This is how we’re designed because the most basic need of the human animal that you are is survival, and the simplest tool for survival is the voice of fear which makes a lot of noise in order to get your attention.

It is your freedom to decide when you want to move beyond mere survival, and now your work is to introduce the scared parts of you to your soul, so that they can learn that there is more than the survival of this body. There is also the expression of this soul.

For this, you will need to learn how to love the very parts of you that scare you, for if you don’t they will always be loud, drowning out the whispers of your soul.

Open your heart in full acceptance to the scared human.

“The road to your soul is through your heart.” – Gary Zukav

Mantras to promote the expression of your soul:

  • I am more than my body. I am the expression of my soul.”
  • I choose to listen to the whispers of my soul over the noise of my fears.”
  • I love and accept all parts of myself, including my vulnerabilities.”
  • I embrace silence as a portal to the wisdom of my soul.”

Today’s journey is an invitation to listen. By nurturing our connection to our souls, we can unlock the extraordinary potential that lies within.

Practice the “Daily Dose”

Let’s put it into practice! Choose what works for you – daily, once a week or whenever inspiration strikes. Putting pen to paper wires the neural pathways that will create your new habits.

1 – Affirmation

Write down your favourite affirmation on a sticky note and place it somewhere that you’ll be able to see it the whole day.

  • I am more than my body. I am the expression of my soul.”
  • I choose to listen to the whispers of my soul over the noise of my fears.”
  • I love and accept all parts of myself, including my vulnerabilities.”
  • I embrace silence as a portal to the wisdom of my soul.”

2 – A moment of reflection

Use today’s question as a journal prompt. If you don’t have the time to sit down and write, just take a moment to reflect on your response.

Beyond Survival – Your Soul’s Expression: Consider the difference between living for survival versus living for soul expression. What would your life look like if you were fully aligned with your soul’s purpose? Describe specific ways you might move “toward cooperation, toward sharing, toward reverence for life” in your daily interactions. What fears or concerns arise when you imagine living this way, and how might you address them?

3 – Quotes to share

Send a quote to someone who needs it, or share them all on social media to spread the good vibes!

4 – Q&A for deeper learning

Read through the questions and answers and write down at least one “aha moment” that clicked for you.

1. What’s the difference between living for survival versus living for soul expression?

Living for survival means operating primarily from fear-based responses focused on protecting the physical body and maintaining basic security. This mode keeps us reactive, always scanning for threats, and making decisions based on what’s safe rather than what’s authentic. Living for soul expression means making choices from a deeper place of inner knowing, where we’re guided by love, purpose, and what serves our highest good and the good of others. It’s about moving beyond mere existence to meaningful contribution and authentic self-expression.

2. How can I distinguish between the voice of fear and the voice of my soul?

The voice of fear is typically loud, urgent, and demanding immediate attention. It focusses on scenarios of lack, danger, or inadequacy and pushes you toward protective behaviors. The voice of your soul, however, is quieter, more patient, and found in moments of stillness. It speaks with wisdom, compassion, and often guides you toward growth, connection, and service. Fear shouts; soul whispers. Fear contracts; soul expands. Learning to recognize these different qualities takes practice and intentional listening.

3. Why do I need to “love the parts of me that scare me”?

When we resist or judge the scared, vulnerable parts of ourselves, they become louder and more demanding of our attention—like a child who acts out when ignored. These rejected aspects of ourselves create internal conflict and drain our energy. By approaching our fears and vulnerabilities with love and acceptance, we integrate them rather than fighting them. This integration allows the soul’s wisdom to emerge more clearly because we’re no longer using our energy to suppress parts of ourselves.

4. What does it mean that “the road to your soul is through your heart”?

This means that connecting with your soul isn’t an intellectual exercise—it’s a heart-centered practice. Your soul’s wisdom is accessed through feelings, intuition, and emotional intelligence rather than through analysis or mental figuring-out. The heart represents our capacity for love, compassion, and authentic connection. When we approach our inner work with an open heart rather than a busy mind, we naturally attune to the soul’s guidance and wisdom.

5. How do I develop “inner knowing and inner authority”?

Inner knowing develops through consistent practice of turning inward and trusting your deeper wisdom over external opinions or societal expectations. This requires regular moments of silence, reflection, and paying attention to how different choices feel in your body and heart. Inner authority comes from honoring this inner knowing and making decisions based on your authentic truth rather than seeking constant validation from others or following prescribed paths that don’t align with your soul’s purpose.

6. What does “authentic empowerment” look like in daily life?

Authentic empowerment occurs when your personality—your everyday self—serves the energy of your soul. This means your actions, words, and choices flow from your deepest values and purpose rather than from ego, fear, or external pressure. In daily life, this might look like speaking your truth compassionately, making decisions that align with your values even when they’re difficult, choosing cooperation over competition, and approaching challenges with curiosity rather than defensiveness.

7. How can I create more space for my soul’s wisdom in a busy, demanding world?

Start with small, consistent practices: a few minutes of morning silence, brief check-ins with yourself throughout the day, or evening reflection time. The key is regularity rather than duration. You can also practice soul-listening during routine activities like walking, washing dishes, or commuting by staying present and receptive rather than mentally planning or worrying. Remember that your soul is always present—it’s not about finding time for it, but about remembering to tune in to what’s already there.
