Your heart has been beating for you since before you were born, and you don’t need to know much more than that to fall madly in love with YOU!

“Your Daily Dose” is a quick two minute read packed with bite-sized wisdom from all the great teachers. But you could also choose to turn it into something more… a powerful daily practice for personal growth. Give it a try!

A message from today’s meditation:

I want you to take a moment to put everything down. Take a deep breath, and as you exhale let everything you’ve been carrying around for the last few days fall. For the moment make your heart the sole focus of your attention, think of nothing else but your heart. Place your hands over your heart, feel it beating and if you can’t actually feel it then imagine feeling it, you know it’s there after all.

This heart has been beating tirelessly for you since before you were born, and never once did this heart question, “is this worth it?”. A heart that has witnessed every joy, every sorrow, every triumph, and every stumble. A heart that has been a constant companion, a silent guide, and an unwavering source of love for you. Isn’t it time you acknowledged this incredible organ and returned the love it has so freely given?

“Once a day, sit quietly and place a hand upon your heart. Send it love, and allow yourself to feel the love that your heart has for you. It has been beating for you since before you were born. Your heart is love, and the blood in your veins is Joy. Your heart is now lovingly pumping joy throughout your whole body. All is well, and you are safe.” – Louise Hay

“As I love and accept myself exactly as I am, right here and right now with all my so-called flaws and imperfections, I also find it easier to accept others in the same way. As I open my consciousness to tap into unconditional love, I connect with new levels of spiritual power. I see a blanket of benevolence covering the planet, helping to transform Earth’s consciousness from fear to love.” – Louise Hay

“Until you love yourself, you will never know who you really are and you won’t know what you’re really capable of.” – Louise Hay

“Love happens! I release the desperate need for love, and instead, allow it to find me in the perfect time-space sequence.” – Louise Hay

Your ability to love, is determined by your ability to love your SELF, period. If you don’t find pure love for yourself within yourself, then your outward experience of love will forever be dominated by your need to fill that space within that you find empty.

If your sense of wholeness is dependent upon the love of people around you, then they are hostages to your happiness, and you are a victim to their actions, because every possible mistake that they make will control your emotional state.

Your heart has been beating for you since before you were born, and you don’t need to know much more than that to fall madly in love with YOU!

How can you cultivate this deep level of inner connection? Here are a few thoughts to help you on your journey:

  • Place a hand upon your heart and send it love. Your heart is a reservoir of love, waiting to be tapped into. By sending it love, you nourish your soul and create a sense of inner peace.
  • Accept yourself exactly as you are. Everyone has flaws and imperfections, even the greatest accomplishments are made by imperfect people. Instead of dwelling on your weaknesses embrace yourself as a human who is trying, and focus on your strengths.
  • Open yourself to the possibility of unconditional love. Not knowing that you can be loved just as you are, prevents you from trusting in love itself.
  • Release the need for external validation. When how you feel about yourself is determined by the opinions of others, then this journey will always be a nauseating rollercoaster ride.

By falling madly in love with yourself, you are not only honouring your incredible heart, but also unlocking the infinite potential within you. So, take a moment today to connect with your heart, send it love, and let it guide you on the path to self-discovery and fulfillment.

Practice the “Daily Dose”

Let’s put it into practice! Choose what works for you – daily, once a week or whenever inspiration strikes. Putting pen to paper wires the neural pathways that will create your new habits.

1 – Affirmation

Not really affirmations today, but some really empowering thoughts to try out. Write down your favourite on a sticky note and place it somewhere that you’ll be able to see it the whole day.

2 – A moment of reflection

Use today’s question as a journal prompt. If you don’t have the time to sit down and write, just take a moment to reflect on your response.

The Conversation with Your Heart: Place your hand over your heart and sit quietly for a few minutes. Feel or imagine feeling your heartbeat. If your heart could speak to you about all the moments it has witnessed in your life – the joys, sorrows, triumphs, and struggles – what would it say? Write a letter from your heart to yourself, expressing gratitude for the journey you’ve shared together and the love it has consistently provided.

3 – Quotes to share

Send a quote to someone who needs it, or share them all on social media to spread the good vibes!

4 – Q&A for deeper learning

Read through the questions and answers and write down at least one “aha moment” that clicked for you.

1. Q: How can I actually feel my heartbeat when I place my hand on my chest?

A: Finding your heartbeat takes practice and patience. Place your hand firmly over the left side of your chest, just below your collarbone. Take slow, deep breaths and remain still. If you can’t feel it physically, that’s completely normal – the important part is the intention and awareness. Simply knowing your heart is there and imagining the sensation creates the same emotional and spiritual connection. The goal isn’t perfection; it’s presence and appreciation.

2. Q: What if I don’t feel an immediate connection to my heart or sense of self-love?

A: This is incredibly common and nothing to be concerned about. Many people have spent years disconnected from their inner emotional landscape. Start small – even spending 30 seconds acknowledging your heart’s work is meaningful. Self-love is a practice, not a destination. It’s like building a muscle; it grows stronger with consistent, gentle attention over time. Be patient with yourself as you develop this new relationship.

3. Q: How do I know if I’m making others “hostages to my happiness”?

A: You might be emotionally dependent on others if you frequently feel devastated by their moods, constantly seek their approval before making decisions, or feel your day is ruined when they’re distant or critical. Signs include obsessively checking their responses to your messages, feeling anxious when they’re upset, or changing your behavior dramatically to keep them happy. The key is noticing when your emotional state depends more on their actions than your own inner stability.

4. Q: Is self-love selfish? Won’t it make me narcissistic?

A: Authentic self-love is the opposite of selfishness. When you love yourself from a place of wholeness, you’re able to give to others without expecting anything in return. Narcissism stems from a lack of genuine self-love – it’s actually overcompensation for inner emptiness. True self-love makes you more compassionate, not less, because you’re not constantly seeking validation or trying to fill an emotional void through others.

5. Q: How can I release the need for external validation when it feels so natural to want approval?

A: The desire for approval is human and natural – the problem isn’t wanting it, but needing it for your sense of worth. Start by noticing when you’re seeking validation and ask yourself: “What would I do if I already had their approval?” or “How would I feel about this decision if no one else’s opinion mattered?” Practice making small decisions based purely on your own values and desires. Gradually, you’ll build confidence in your own judgment.

6. Q: What does it mean that “your heart is love, and the blood in your veins is joy”?

A: This beautiful metaphor from Louise Hay suggests that love and joy aren’t emotions you need to find externally – they’re literally flowing through you at every moment. Your heart doesn’t just pump blood; it circulates the life force that connects you to everything. When you recognize this, you realize that love isn’t something you lack or need to earn – it’s your natural state. Joy isn’t a destination; it’s the energy that’s already sustaining you.

7. Q: How do I maintain this heart connection and self-love during difficult times?

A: During challenging periods, your heart connection becomes even more crucial. Create a daily practice of placing your hand on your heart and taking three deep breaths, especially when you’re stressed. Remember that your heart has carried you through every difficult moment of your life so far. Use Louise Hay’s affirmation: “All is well, and you are safe.” When you’re struggling, ask yourself: “What would I say to my heart right now?” Often, we’re kinder to our hearts than to our minds, and this can help you access self-compassion during tough times.
