“Your Daily Dose” is a quick two minute read packed with bite-sized wisdom from all the great teachers. But you could also choose to turn it into something more… a powerful daily practice for personal growth. Give it a try!
A message from today’s meditation:
I really enjoy Sunday Silent Meditations, and I love finding quotes about silence to share with you. Here are a few really meaningful ones…
“The soul always knows what to do to heal. The challenge is to silence the mind.” – Caroline Myss
“The quieter you become the more you are able to hear.” – Rumi
“Within each of us, there is silence. A silence as vast as the universe. And when we experience that silence, we remember who we are.” – Gunilla Norris
Sometimes we have an experience that helps us feel SO within our power that we can take on the world! It’s like nothing can stop us and we can feel ourselves expand. But growing and learning is never like flicking a light switch… we don’t have this one beautiful realization and then feel forever happy ever after.
It’s a lot more like a dance, going back and forth, experiencing our own light and sometimes our own darkness too. Instead of wishing to always only experience the light, we can learn to do better at embracing the back-and-forth dance.
So often our biggest downfall is how disappointed we become in ourselves and how much we fight and resist when we do feel weak, uncertain, useless… we want to hold on to feeling powerful, struggling to constantly be the “best” version of ourselves.
When you understand the dance that we are all involved in and become a willing participant, then the steps are so much easier to learn…
- Celebrate the Light: When you feel powerful, passionate, and motivated – step on the gas pedal! Pour your energy into your goals and dreams. Savor the feeling of expansion.
- Embrace the Shadow: When you inevitably feel weak or uncertain, resist the urge to see yourself as broken. You’re not wrong or stupid. You haven’t failed. It’s just that the powerful rise of every inhale, will need to be followed by softening, falling, sometimes even collapsing of the next exhale. Every expansion requires a surrender. This contraction isn’t your enemy – it’s part of the sacred rhythm of growth.
- Seek the Silence: This is where the magic happens, in the silence as vast as the universe. In surrender to stillness, you reconnect with your inner sanctum – the holiest of holy places within you. This is where your soul gathers strength for the next round of expansion.
Mantras for self-mastery:
- “In moments of strength, I will channel my energy into my passions, knowing that expansion requires intention.”
- “When I feel weak or uncertain, I will surrender to the silence within, remembering that contraction allows for renewal.”
- “Today, and every day, I will create space for stillness, for it is in the quiet that I reconnect with my inner wisdom and the power to heal.”
Your soul already knows what to do to heal. It always has. The challenge isn’t learning something new – it’s unlearning the habit of fighting yourself. It’s releasing the exhausting expectation that you should always feel perfect and powerful every single moment.
Enjoy the dance.

Practice the “Daily Dose”
Let’s put it into practice! Choose what works for you – daily, once a week or whenever inspiration strikes. Putting pen to paper wires the neural pathways that will create your new habits.
1 – Affirmation
Write down your favourite affirmation on a sticky note and place it somewhere that you’ll be able to see it the whole day.
2 – A moment of reflection
Use today’s question as a journal prompt. If you don’t have the time to sit down and write, just take a moment to reflect on your response.
Redesigning Your Rhythm: If you truly accepted that personal growth is a dance between expansion and contraction rather than a constant upward climb, how would you live differently? What would you stop forcing? What pressure would you release? Describe what a week in your life might look like if you honored both phases equally – foot on the accelerator to celebrate your energy, and surrendering to rest when it’s needed.
3 – Quotes to share
Send a quote to someone who needs it, or share them all on social media to spread the good vibes!

4 – Q&A for deeper learning
Read through the questions and answers and write down at least one “aha moment” that clicked for you.
Q1. What does it mean that “the soul always knows what to do to heal”?
This means that beneath all the noise of your thinking mind—the worry, self-doubt, and overthinking—there exists an innate wisdom within you that already understands what you need. Your soul doesn’t require elaborate strategies or external validation to heal. Instead, healing happens naturally when you create space for silence and stop fighting against yourself. The challenge isn’t learning how to heal; it’s learning to get beyond the mental chatter that prevents you from accessing the wisdom you already possess.
Q2. Why do I feel powerful one day and weak the next? Am I doing something wrong?
No, you’re not doing anything wrong—you’re experiencing the natural rhythm of being human. Personal growth isn’t linear; it’s cyclical, like breathing. Every expansion (feeling powerful, motivated, clear) must be followed by a contraction (feeling uncertain, tired, vulnerable). This isn’t regression or failure—it’s how we integrate growth. The inhale needs the exhale. The problem isn’t the cycle itself, but our resistance to the contractive phase and the harsh judgment we pile onto ourselves when we experience it.
Q3. How do I know whether I’m in a healthy “contraction” phase or actually stuck in a negative pattern?
A healthy contraction feels like a natural pulling back, a need to rest, reflect, or integrate recent growth. There’s often a quality of surrender rather than resistance. You might feel quieter, more introspective, or less energized, but there’s an underlying sense of being restored to it. You’re stuck in a negative pattern when you notice repetitive self-destructive behaviors, prolonged isolation that doesn’t feel restorative, or when the “contraction” is driven primarily by fear, shame, or avoidance rather than a need for renewal. If you’re unsure, seeking silence through meditation or journaling can help you distinguish between the two.
Q4. What does “seeking the silence” actually look like in daily life?
Seeking silence doesn’t necessarily mean sitting in formal meditation for hours (though that can be part of it). It means intentionally creating space away from stimulation, distraction, and the constant doing. This could look like: taking a walk without your phone or earbuds, sitting quietly with your morning coffee before checking emails, spending time in nature without an agenda, journaling without trying to solve anything, or simply pausing throughout your day to take three conscious breaths. The key is creating moments where you’re not consuming information, entertaining yourself, or trying to accomplish something—just being present with what is.
Q5. I understand the concept, but how do I stop judging myself so harshly during weak moments?
Start by noticing the judgment without adding more judgment on top of it. When you catch yourself thinking “I’m so weak” or “I should be better than this,” pause and acknowledge: “I’m judging myself right now.” Then ask: “What if this moment of feeling so useless passes again naturally? What if there’s nothing wrong with me an I naturally feel stronger and more positive again soon?” Remind yourself that self-compassion isn’t about having positive thoughts all the time—it’s about relating to yourself with the same kindness you’d show someone you love. Over time, this practice rewires your automatic response from criticism to curiosity.
Q6. Can I stay in the “expansion” phase longer if I work hard enough?
The desire to stay constantly expanded is understandable but ultimately works against natural rhythms. Just as you can’t inhale forever without exhaling, you can’t sustain endless expansion. Trying to force constant growth actually prevents the integration necessary for sustainable transformation. The contraction phase isn’t wasted time—it’s when your system processes, integrates, and prepares for the next expansion. Honoring both phases actually leads to deeper, more authentic growth than trying to force yourself to stay perpetually “on.” Trust that every exhale will always naturally create space for the next inhale.
Q7. How will I know when I’m ready to expand again after a contractive period?
Your energy will naturally shift. You’ll notice a subtle but unmistakable stirring—perhaps new ideas emerging, increased motivation, or simply feeling more capacity to engage with life again. It’s similar to how you know when you’ve rested enough after intense physical exercise. Instead of forcing the timing, practice listening to your internal cues. The more you honor your contractive phases without rushing them, the more attuned you become to recognizing when expansion is organically arising. Trust that your soul knows the timing—your job is simply to pay attention and respond accordingly.
