“Your Daily Dose” is a quick two minute read packed with bite-sized wisdom from all the great teachers. But you could also choose to turn it into something more… a powerful daily practice for personal growth. Give it a try!
A message from today’s meditation:
Welcome to a Sunday silent meditation. On a Sunday we always dedicate this space to stillness by having a silent meditation.
What is your relationship to silence? Do you find it easy to be in silence by yourself? Or is there a lot of resistance within you to the idea of surrendering your “self” into silence for a while? These questions reveal more about our inner landscape than we might expect. Our comfort or discomfort with silence often reflects our comfort with ourselves and our spiritual nature.
Do yourself a favour sometime and search around for thoughts and ideas on the topic of silence. Read and listen to the ways in which different teachers try to describe stillness. There are so many ways in which we can attempt to articulate something that no words could possibly do justice to but still, words are one of the ways our human brain forms an understanding of this universe.
So in trying to describe the indescribable, here are some of the descriptions that I enjoy most:
“Silence is not the absence of something but the presence of everything… it is the presence of time, undisturbed.”
“Silence is not an absence but a presence. Not an emptiness but repletion. A filling up.”
“Silence is a gift. Learn to value its essence. The quieter you become, the more you can hear.”
“Silence can be found, silence can be lost, and silence can be recovered, but silence cannot be imagined. Silence can be felt though, it can be felt within the chest. Silence nurtures human nature and helps people understand who they are. It also makes people better listeners to each other and to nature.”
“Silence is the sound of God.”
Our teacher for this week has been Wayne Dyer, and today we’re asking him for his thoughts on silence specifically –
“Take some time to be silent and repeat the sound of God as an inner mantra. Meditation allows you to make conscious contact with your Source and achieve success in every area. If a problem arises, then go within, get very quiet about it and find the answers inside of you.” – Wayne Dyer
“Embrace silence, since meditation is the only way to truly come to know your Source.” – Wayne Dyer
“Make peace with silence, and remind yourself that it is in this space that you’ll come to remember your spirit. When you’re able to transcend an aversion to silence, you’ll also transcend many other miseries. And it is in this silence that the remembrance of God will be activated.” – Wayne Dyer
“There’s no such thing as a bad meditation. Any time you spend in silence is valuable” – Wayne Dyer
It’s clear how silence is the space in which we find ourselves closest to God, and to add just one more very important side-effect of silence… you also find yourself becoming closer and closer with YOU.
“It’s impossible to be lonely, if you like the person you’re alone with.” – Wayne Dyer
Stillness is not a passive state, it is a state of full participation with life that requires intention and discipline.
It is a journey inward, a descent into the depths of our consciousness to discover our connection to the entire Universe, and understand just how we are able to move along with LIFE itself.
As we embrace silence, we begin to peel away the layers of conditioning and societal expectations that obscure our true nature. We uncover the essence of who we are – the manifestation of the Divine itself into form.
A few thoughts for self-reflection:
- “I embrace silence as a sacred space for self-discovery and spiritual connection.”
- “I find peace within by connecting with my inner divinity and true essence.”
- “I remember that I am not alone – I am in full participation with LIFE itself.”
As we journey through life, let us make a conscious effort to incorporate more silence into our days. Whether it’s through meditation, spending time in nature, or simply taking a few moments to breathe deeply, the rewards of embracing silence are immeasurable.
Have a beautiful Sunday beautiful humans!

Practice the “Daily Dose”
Let’s put it into practice! Choose what works for you – daily, once a week or whenever inspiration strikes. Putting pen to paper wires the neural pathways that will create your new habits.
1 – Affirmation
Write down your favourite affirmation on a sticky note and place it somewhere that you’ll be able to see it the whole day.
- “I embrace silence as a sacred space for self-discovery and spiritual connection.”
- “I find peace within by connecting with my inner divinity and true essence.”
- “I remember that I am not alone – I am in full participation with LIFE itself.”
2 – A moment of reflection
Use today’s question as a journal prompt. If you don’t have the time to sit down and write, just take a moment to reflect on your response.
Divine Connection Through Inner Listening: Reflect on Wayne Dyer’s invitation to “repeat the sound of God as an inner mantra.” What does the concept of “the sound of God” mean to you personally? Describe a time when you felt deeply connected to something greater than yourself. How might cultivating this inner listening transform your approach to life’s challenges?
3 – Quotes to share
Send a quote to someone who needs it, or share them all on social media to spread the good vibes!

4 – Q&A for deeper learning
Read through the questions and answers and write down at least one “aha moment” that clicked for you.
Q: I feel anxious or uncomfortable when I try to sit in silence. Is this normal?
A: Absolutely normal. Resistance to silence often reflects our conditioning in a noise-filled world and our unfamiliarity with our inner landscape. This discomfort is actually valuable information—it shows you where healing and growth can occur. Start with just a few minutes of silence daily and gradually increase the duration as you become more comfortable with yourself.
Q: What does “the sound of God” mean?
A: “The sound of God” can be interpreted in many ways—it might be the sound of your breath, the word “Om,” or perhaps a sacred phrase meaningful to you… But what Wayne Dyer is referring to is that simply (and profoundly) silence itself can be interpreted as the sound of God.
Q: I’m always busy—how can I realistically incorporate more silence into my day?
A: Start small with micro-moments of silence: three deep breaths before checking your phone, a minute of stillness with your morning coffee, or silent observation during your commute. Remember Wayne Dyer’s words: “There’s no such thing as a bad meditation. Any time you spend in silence is valuable.” Even brief moments accumulate into profound transformation.
Q: Can silence really help me solve problems and make better decisions?
A: According to Wayne Dyer, yes: “If a problem arises, then go within, get very quiet about it and find the answers inside of you.” Silence creates space for inner wisdom to emerge, free from external pressures and mental noise. Many people find that solutions arise naturally when they stop forcing and allow themselves to listen deeply.
Q: What if I don’t believe in God or consider myself spiritual?
A: The practices described here can be adapted to any belief system. “God” can represent your highest self, universal consciousness, nature, or simply the mystery of existence. The benefits of silence—reduced stress, increased self-awareness, and clearer thinking—are available regardless of your spiritual beliefs.
Q: How do I know if my silence practice is “working”?
A: Rather than looking for dramatic experiences, notice subtle shifts: increased patience, better sleep, clearer decision-making, or feeling more comfortable in your own company. As the article mentions, silence helps you “peel away the layers of conditioning” gradually. Trust the process and remember that consistency matters more than intensity.
