Do you know yourself as light?

“Your Daily Dose” is a quick two minute read packed with bite-sized wisdom from all the great teachers. But you could also choose to turn it into something more… a powerful daily practice for personal growth. Give it a try!

A message from today’s meditation:

Light is everywhere. It gives us vision, keeps us warm, and facilitates life. Light is even responsible for developments in communications technology, the internet, and space travel. However, light is not just a physical concept. It is a central theme used throughout scripture to literally and metaphorically describe spiritual concepts.

Throughout history, scientists have studied light physically and theologians have studied light spiritually. But what if these two realms of study were combined? What if the physical light we see is actually related to the spiritual light discussed in scripture? Can we apply what we know about light scientifically, to what we know about light spiritually?

“This is a natural and powerful way to think of the Universe because physical light is a reflection of nonphysical Light.” – Gary Zukav

“You are a dynamic being of Light that at each moment informs the energy that flows through you. You do this with each thought, with each intention.” – Gary Zukav

“The Light that flows through your system is Universal Energy. It is the Light of the Universe. You give form to Light. What you feel, what you think, how you behave, what you value and how you live your life reflects the way you are shaping the Light that is flowing through you.” – Gary Zukav

“Authentic power is the energy that is formed by the intentions of the Soul. It is the light shaped by the intentions of love and compassion, guided by wisdom.” – Gary Zukav

“Don’t be surprised if in the 21st century lectures on meditation appear in the physics departments of universities.” – Gary Zukav

Have you come to know yourself as light yet? Have you come to understand that your very existence is the act of light manifesting into form?

When you know yourself as light then the life that you’re giving form to will change, because every thought, every action and every intention will carry the knowledge of your light. When you know yourself as light it’ll be obvious that this is true for everyone around you too, and instead of blaming and criticising others for their failings you’ll think, “they just don’t understand that they are light yet…” and you’ll go from judge to cheerleader!

As you reflect on your own journey, consider these guiding mantras:

  • “I am light expressing itself in human form, carrying infinite potential within me.”
  • “My thoughts and actions are powerful tools for shaping the light that flows through me.”
  • “I choose to embody love, compassion, and wisdom as the foundation of my authentic power.”
  • “I see the light in others, even when they haven’t recognized it in themselves yet.”

Join us for a quiet meditation and reconnect with the light that you already are. Allow yourself to be reminded of your true nature, a being of light capable of illuminating the world around you.

Practice the “Daily Dose”

Let’s put it into practice! Choose what works for you – daily, once a week or whenever inspiration strikes. Putting pen to paper wires the neural pathways that will create your new habits.

1 – Affirmation

Write down your favourite affirmation on a sticky note and place it somewhere that you’ll be able to see it the whole day.

2 – A moment of reflection

Use today’s question as a journal prompt. If you don’t have the time to sit down and write, just take a moment to reflect on your response.

From Judge to Cheerleader: Think about someone in your life who has recently frustrated, disappointed, or hurt you. If you were to view this person through the lens of “they don’t understand that they are light yet,” how would your perspective shift? Write about what it would look like to respond to their behavior as a “cheerleader” rather than a judge. What would change in your interactions, and what challenges might you face in making this transition?

3 – Quotes to share

Send a quote to someone who needs it, or share them all on social media to spread the good vibes!

4 – Q&A for deeper learning

Read through the questions and answers and write down at least one “aha moment” that clicked for you.

1. What does it mean to “know yourself as light”?

Knowing yourself as light means recognizing that your consciousness is not separate from the universal energy that permeates everything. It’s understanding that you are not just a physical being having spiritual experiences, but rather a dynamic expression of universal consciousness taking human form. This recognition shifts your identity from being a victim of circumstances to being an active participant in shaping reality through your thoughts, intentions, and actions.

2. How is physical light connected to spiritual light?

This perspective acknowledges that physical light – the electromagnetic radiation we can see and measure – is a carrier of information that encodes biological life into Earth’s organisms. And just as physical light enables vision and supports life, spiritual Light enables awareness and supports spiritual growth. The connection suggests that studying the properties of physical light can help us understand spiritual principles, and vice versa.

3. How do my thoughts and intentions actually “shape light”?

When you think and feel, you’re not just having internal experiences—you’re actively configuring the universal energy flowing through you. Your thoughts become “thought forms,” your emotions become “feeling forms,” and your actions become “outer forms” that give specific shape to the light expressing itself through you. This means every mental and emotional state you hold is literally informing the energy field around you, influencing both your personal experience and your impact on others.

4. What is “authentic power” and how is it different from regular power?

Authentic power is energy that originates from the soul’s intentions rather than from the ego’s desires. While traditional power often involves control, manipulation, or force over external circumstances, authentic power flows from internal alignment with love, compassion, and wisdom. It’s not about getting what you want, but about expressing who you truly are. This type of power is sustainable, nurturing, and naturally serves both personal growth and collective good.

5. Why would I shift from being a “judge” to a “cheerleader” with difficult people?

When you recognize that everyone is light in various stages of remembering their true nature, you naturally develop compassion for those who are acting unconsciously. Instead of condemning someone for their mistakes or negative behavior, you understand they simply haven’t awakened to their light nature yet. This shift doesn’t mean accepting harmful behavior, but rather responding from a place of understanding rather than judgment, which often creates more positive outcomes for everyone involved.

6. How can meditation help me connect with my light nature?

Meditation creates the inner silence necessary to perceive the subtle energy of light flowing through you. In the quiet space of meditation, you can step back from the constant stream of thoughts and emotions that typically define your identity, allowing you to experience the deeper awareness that is your true nature. Regular meditation helps you recognize the difference between your ego-personality and your light-essence, making it easier to operate from authentic power in daily life.

7. Is this concept compatible with scientific understanding?

The article suggests that the boundaries between science and spirituality are becoming increasingly blurred, with the prediction that meditation might even be taught in physics departments. While mainstream science doesn’t yet fully embrace consciousness as a fundamental force, quantum physics has revealed that observation affects reality at the subatomic level, suggesting consciousness plays a role in shaping physical phenomena. The key is staying open to both rigorous scientific inquiry and profound spiritual insights, recognizing they may be exploring the same underlying reality from different angles.
