Be serious about what you’re creating – but don’t take YOURSELF so seriously.

“Your Daily Dose” is a quick two minute read packed with bite-sized wisdom from all the great teachers. But you could also choose to turn it into something more… a powerful daily practice for personal growth. Give it a try!

Hey! Happy Monday!

We are stepping into a new week. We are stepping onto a brand new canvas with a brush in our hand and every action we take this week will be recorded as a brush stroke of our creative expression. What will your creation look like by the end of this week?

Our teacher for the week is Louise Hay, and she has some really powerful truth to share with us as we get into this new week –

“Today is a new day. Today is a day for you to begin creating a joyous, fulfilling life. Today is the day to begin to release all your limitations. Today is the day for you to learn the secrets of life. You can change your life for the better. You already have the tools within you to do so. These tools are your thoughts and your beliefs.” – Louise Hay

“Right now is the time for you to visualise and create your future. Make it as healthy and bright and joyful as you can. It’s your life, and you’re going to LIVE it.” – Louise Hay

“I give myself permission to be all that I can be, and I deserve the very best in life.” – Louise Hay

Every day is an opportunity to create again! You don’t have to be perfect at it, but you do have to be committed to trying again and again and again! Can you start your day fully committed to what you’re trying to create? And can you balance that by getting to the end of your day saying, “however this day turned out is perfect!”

Put this on repeat: CREATE AND ALSO LET GO – do your best but don’t try and hold on to control – be serious about what you’re trying to create but don’t take YOURSELF so seriously in the process.

You are a Fearless Creator! You were born to create! Create not because you fear scarcity, but create because you recognize abundance!

So, how can you cultivate a mindset that allows you to create with passion and joy? Here are a few thoughts to guide your brush strokes this week:

  • Let go of perfectionism: Embrace the imperfections and celebrate the process.
  • Believe in your abilities: Cultivate self-confidence and trust in your inner wisdom.
  • Visualize your success: Create a mental image of your brightest future and work towards it.
  • Embrace challenges as opportunities: Learn from setbacks and use them to grow.
  • Get focused: Be serious about what you’re creating, but don’t take yourself so seriously.
  • Practice gratitude: Focus on the positive aspects of your life and appreciate your blessings.

Come and jump into this week with us! Unleash your inner creator and embark on a journey of self-discovery, fulfillment, and joy. Remember, the most beautiful creations often emerge from a heart that is both passionate and playful. So, let go of your fears, embrace your imperfections, and start creating today!

Practice the “Daily Dose”

Let’s put it into practice! Choose what works for you – daily, once a week or whenever inspiration strikes. Putting pen to paper wires the neural pathways that will create your new habits.

1 – Affirmation

Write down your favourite affirmation on a sticky note and place it somewhere that you’ll be able to see it the whole day.

2 – A moment of reflection

Use today’s question as a journal prompt. If you don’t have the time to sit down and write, just take a moment to reflect on your response.

Your Inner Creative Tools: Louise Hay teaches that “your thoughts and your beliefs” are your primary creative tools. Take inventory of your current thought patterns and beliefs about yourself, your capabilities, and your worthiness. Which thoughts and beliefs are serving your highest creation, and which ones are limiting you? Write a letter to yourself from the perspective of your most confident, creative self – what would that version of you want you to know about your potential and your right to create the life you desire?

3 – Quotes to share

Send a quote to someone who needs it, or share them all on social media to spread the good vibes!

4 – Q&A for deeper learning

Read through the questions and answers and write down at least one “aha moment” that clicked for you.

1. What does it mean to “create and let go” in personal development?

“Create and let go” means maintaining a balance between intentional action and detached outcomes. You commit fully to your vision and take consistent action toward your goals (the creating part), while simultaneously releasing your grip on exactly how and when results will manifest (the letting go part). This approach reduces anxiety and perfectionism while keeping you engaged in the creative process. It’s about doing your best without trying to control every detail of the outcome.

2. How can I be serious about my goals without taking myself too seriously?

Being serious about your goals means showing up consistently, making intentional choices, and treating your dreams with respect and commitment. Taking yourself too seriously, however, involves rigid perfectionism, fear of failure, and losing the joy in the process. You can maintain dedication to your vision while embracing mistakes as learning opportunities, finding humor in setbacks, and celebrating small wins along the way. The key is passion with playfulness.

3. What are the “tools within me” that Louise Hay refers to for creating change?

According to Louise Hay’s teaching, your primary creative tools are your thoughts and beliefs. These mental patterns shape your reality by influencing your emotions, decisions, and actions. When you consciously choose empowering thoughts and nurturing beliefs about yourself and your capabilities, you’re essentially programming yourself for success. These tools are always available to you and don’t require external resources – just awareness and intentional practice.

4. How do I shift from creating out of fear to creating from abundance?

Fear-based creation stems from thoughts like “I’m not enough,” “There’s not enough to go around,” or “I must succeed or I’ll fail completely.” Abundance-based creation comes from beliefs like “I have unique gifts to offer,” “There are infinite opportunities,” and “I can learn and grow from any outcome.” Make this shift by regularly practicing gratitude, celebrating others’ successes instead of feeling threatened, and focusing on what you want to create rather than what you’re trying to avoid.

5. What does it mean to be a “Fearless Creator” in daily life?

Being a Fearless Creator means approaching each day with the understanding that you have the power to shape your experience through your choices, thoughts, and actions. It involves taking creative risks, trying new approaches, and viewing challenges as opportunities for growth rather than threats. You create not from desperation or fear of missing out, but from genuine excitement about your potential and trust in your ability to handle whatever comes.

6. How can I practically apply the “blank canvas” metaphor to my week?

Start each week (or day) by visualizing it as a fresh canvas and yourself as the artist. Before diving into your routine, spend a few minutes intentionally choosing what you want to “paint” – what energy you want to bring, what goals you want to advance, what relationships you want to nurture. Throughout the week, view your actions as deliberate brushstrokes contributing to your overall masterpiece. At week’s end, reflect on your creation without judgment, appreciating both the intended strokes and the happy accidents.

7. Why is visualization important in the creative process, and how do I do it effectively?

Visualization is crucial because your mind doesn’t distinguish between vividly imagined experiences and real ones – both create neural pathways and emotional responses that guide your behavior. Louise Hay emphasizes creating mental images of your “brightest future” because this programs your subconscious to notice opportunities and take actions aligned with that vision. For effective visualization, make your mental images as detailed and emotionally engaging as possible, include all your senses, and practice regularly while feeling the emotions you’d experience if your vision were already real.
