“Your Daily Dose” is a quick two minute read packed with bite-sized wisdom from all the great teachers. But you could also choose to turn it into something more… a powerful daily practice for personal growth. Give it a try!
A message from today’s meditation:
Are you stuck in what you know? It may sound like a weird question at first, but it cuts to the heart of why so many of us find ourselves recreating the same patterns, relationships, and outcomes year after year. Iyanla Vanzant shines some light on the importance of this question –
“If you don’t have a vision, then you’re going to be stuck in what you know. And what you know is limited to the things that you’ve already seen.” – Iyanla Vanzant
Think about it this way… from when you were born until now, your brain has been building a recording of all of your past experiences, everything you’ve ever learned, and we can call this your “known”. Almost like a blueprint created by the life experiences you’ve had, that you will consult every time you have a decision to make.
What are you able to create from this blueprint? The truth is, from the known we can only create the old, recreate the past, creating from what we’ve already seen.
If we want to create “the new” we are going to have to consciously create a vision that is different from our past.
“A vision that grows inside of you, a vision that wakes with you, sleeps with you, moves with you, a vision that you can tap into even on your worst, worst, worst day, the vision will pull you forward.” – Iyanla Vanzant
This requires us to deliberately investigate the recording of the past, become absolutely clear about how we want the future to be different, and create a picture of our future so clear that we can access this vision even on our very worst days.
Now you have to make the choice to embrace and step into the unknown, because it is only from the places that you haven’t been before that you can create something new! You have to understand that your body will resist every attempt at stepping into something new simply because of how scary it feels.
“The only way to get what you really want, is to let go of what you don’t want.” – Iyanla Vanzant
Because of fear, you have kept holding on to what you no longer want for far, far too long.
Have you become stuck in what you know? It might be time for you to let go of the edge which you’ve been so desperately clinging to, and come and swim in the unknown.
Don’t become trapped by the familiar past, open your arms to the unknown with these thoughts:
- Embrace the Unknown: Step outside of your comfort zone and explore new horizons.
- Cultivate a Vision: A vision is a picture of the future that produces passion – keep working on yours.
- Let Go of the story from the Past: There’s an old narrative on repeat that keeps you recreating experiences from the past. It’s time to tell a new story.
- Trust the Process: Have faith in the power of a new story to change the trajectory of your life.
By letting go of the old story, we create space for the new. We invite fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and transformative experiences into our lives. It may be scary to step into the unknown, but the rewards are immeasurable. The future is yours to create.
Have a peaceful Sunday peeps!

Today’s LIVE meditation
Practice the “Daily Dose”
Let’s put it into practice! Choose what works for you – daily, once a week or whenever inspiration strikes. Putting pen to paper wires the neural pathways that will create your new habits.
1 – Affirmation
Not affirmations today, but some powerful principles to help you step out of the recording of the past. Write down your favourite one and place it somewhere that you’ll be able to see it the whole day.
2 – A moment of reflection
Use today’s question as a journal prompt. If you don’t have the time to sit down and write, just take a moment to reflect on your response.
Create the Picture of Your Beautiful Life: A vision is a picture of the future that produces passion. Take the time today to capture in words what your beautiful life looks like, the life that you are passionate to live. Remember – this is an invitation to daydream, not a commitment or a plan. Give yourself permission to imagine without judgment or self-editing. There are no wrong answers here – only possibilities.
Close your eyes and imagine waking up in your beautiful life. Don’t worry about how you got there or whether it’s “realistic.” Just play. What do you see when you open your eyes? What sounds do you hear? Walk yourself through this simple but beautiful day from morning to night. What are you wearing? Who are you with? What makes you smile? What are you creating or doing that fills you with energy? Write it all down like you’re describing a scene in a movie.
Write a letter to your present self from the version of you who is living your future beautiful life. This future you is happy, fulfilled and at peace even when “the world is not perfect”. What does future you want to tell the present version of you? What are they grateful for? What do they wish they could tell you about the journey? Let your future self paint the picture for you – sometimes it’s easier to envision when we pretend someone else is describing it.
3 – Quotes to share
Send a quote to someone who needs it, or share them all on social media to spread the good vibes!

4 – Q&A for deeper learning
Read through the questions and answers and write down at least one “aha moment” that clicked for you.
1. What does it mean to be “stuck in what you know”?
Being stuck in what you know means you’re unconsciously operating from a blueprint created by your past experiences. Every decision you make, every action you take, is filtered through what you’ve already seen and learned. This keeps you recreating similar outcomes and patterns, preventing you from experiencing genuine transformation or creating something truly new in your life.
2. Why can’t I create something new from my past experiences?
Your past experiences serve as a reference library for your brain, helping you navigate familiar situations. However, this same library can only help you reconstruct what already exists. To create something genuinely new—a different career path, a healthier relationship dynamic, a transformed sense of self—you need to step beyond this reference point and into the unknown, where possibilities you haven’t yet imagined exist.
3. What exactly is a “vision” and how is it different from a goal?
A vision is more than a goal—it’s a deeply felt, emotionally compelling picture of your future that lives inside you. As Iyanla Vanzant describes, it wakes with you, sleeps with you, and moves with you. Unlike a simple goal, a vision is powerful enough to pull you forward even on your worst days. It’s infused with passion and clarity, serving as your north star when the path becomes difficult.
4. Why does my body resist stepping into something new?
Your body is designed to keep you safe, and it interprets the unfamiliar as potentially dangerous. When you attempt to step into the unknown, your nervous system activates fear responses because it has no previous data to confirm that this new path is safe. This biological resistance is natural and doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path—it simply means you’re venturing into territory your body hasn’t mapped yet.
5. How do I know what I need to let go of?
Pay attention to what you’re holding onto out of fear rather than love or genuine desire. Ask yourself: “What am I keeping in my life not because it serves me, but because I’m afraid of what happens if I release it?” This could be a relationship that’s run its course, a career that drains you, or a belief about yourself that limits your potential. If you’re holding on desperately rather than embracing freely, that’s often a sign it’s time to let go.
6. What if I don’t know how to create a vision for my future?
Start by examining your past and getting clear about what you don’t want to repeat. Then, ask yourself: “If I could design my life without any limitations, what would it look like?” Give yourself permission to imagine beyond what seems realistic or achievable based on your current circumstances. The vision will grow and clarify over time through consistent attention and reflection. Begin with feelings—how do you want to feel in your future life?—and over time the specific details will emerge.
7. Is it really possible to change the trajectory of my life with just a new story?
Yes, but it requires more than simply telling yourself something different. Changing your life’s trajectory through a new story involves deeply examining and releasing the old narrative that keeps you stuck in familiar patterns. It means creating a compelling vision, consistently choosing actions aligned with that vision even when it feels uncomfortable, and building new neural pathways through repeated practice. The story you tell yourself shapes your beliefs, which influence your actions, which create your results. Change the story with genuine commitment, and the trajectory shifts.
