“Your Daily Dose” is a quick two minute read packed with bite-sized wisdom from all the great teachers. But you could also choose to turn it into something more… a powerful daily practice for personal growth. Give it a try!
A message from today’s meditation:
Here’s a powerful secret: your soul’s greatest joy often intersects with exactly what the world needs.
There is a school of thought in spiritual traditions which teaches that our “purpose” here on earth is to be found in giving expression to our soul’s deepest desire. Think about it… When you’re fully engaged in doing something that you love, are you doing it because you are seeking happiness, or are you radiating happiness because you are doing it?
So that begs the question then: “what does my soul desire?” and, “how do I know what my soul desires?”
The truth is, figuring out what your soul desires can be tricky. Our daily reality is dominated by the need to survive, and this survival mindset rarely pauses to consult with the deeper wisdom within us. We become so consumed with the mechanics of living, that we forget to actually live.
So most of us will spend years or even decades purely focused on the practicalities of survival – jobs, bills, responsibilities. These are essential of course but also, we know that there is more to life than just surviving… so if you want to step into your full potential, set out to find what it is that your soul wants to express.
“The most beautiful moments in life are moments when you are expressing your joy, not seeking it.” – Sadhguru
Read that again. Expressing, not seeking.
This distinction is everything. Are you still chasing after things you think will bring you joy, or have you surrendered to what your soul actually is? Have you become the living expression of that inner joy?
When you’re fully engaged in something you love, you’re not simply seeking happiness – you’re radiating it. You become a beacon, and that light touches everyone around you. This is where true purpose lives: at the intersection where your greatest joy meets the world’s need.
Today’s meditation journey is an exercise in connecting with your soul, checking in and finding what it is that your soul wants to express.
Where your greatest joy meets the world’s need… THAT is where your purpose lies! But don’t get stuck in asking “what does the world need?” instead trust that your soul’s expression is what the world needs. So ask yourself “what makes me come alive?” and do more of that, because what the world needs is more people who have come alive!
“In deep, conscious involvement with everything around you, there is no entanglement – there is just joy.” – Sadhguru
“If you are concerned about the world, the first thing you need to do is transform yourself into a joyful being.” – Sadhguru
A world brimming with passionate, joyful individuals radiating their unique gifts? THAT, is a world worth living in! And we can all easily contribute to a more beautiful world by becoming the most joyous version of ourselves.
This is not a call for you to quit what you’re doing right now. Maybe you’re in a job that you don’t absolutely love, and maybe you should do something different – or – maybe you’ll find real gratitude for a mundane job that puts a roof over your head. We all have mundane aspects of our lives that we need to deal with after all. And having a secure income might be exactly what you need so that you can afford to spend time in the expression of your soul.
Regardless of our circumstances, here is something that we can all become better at. Start paying more careful attention to the things that really move you and ask yourself, “how do I do more of this?”
Pay attention to the activities that ignite a fire within you, leaving you energized rather than depleted. Notice the moments when time seems to disappear because you’re so absorbed in what you’re doing and ask yourself the question: “how do I do more of this?”
The answer to this question holds the key not only to your own happiness but also to a life of purpose that impacts the world around you. Your soul’s expression might be through art, teaching, building, healing, creating, connecting, or any of a thousand other forms. What matters is that it’s an authentic expression of your joy.
Trust that what the world needs is for you to unashamedly be the expression of your soul. Let your soul’s joy be your guiding light, and watch as your purpose unfolds beautifully before you.
The revolution begins within. When you choose joy, when you honor what makes you come alive, you don’t just transform your own life – you become part of the transformation the world is waiting for.
Here are some mantras to help ignite your purpose:
- “My joy is my purpose.” Embrace the activities that make you come alive, and trust that this path leads to a life of fulfillment.
- “I am a beacon of joy.” Cultivate your inner light, and watch as it illuminates the world around you.
- “Every day, I choose to do more of what makes me sparkle.” Make conscious choices that align with your passions, and witness the transformation within yourself and the world.
Trust that what the world needs is for you to unashamedly be the expression of your soul. Let your soul’s joy be your guiding light, and watch as your purpose unfolds beautifully.

Practice the “Daily Dose”
Let’s put it into practice! Choose what works for you – daily, once a week or whenever inspiration strikes. Putting pen to paper wires the neural pathways that will create your new habits.
1 – Affirmation
Write down your favourite affirmation on a sticky note and place it somewhere that you’ll be able to see it the whole day.
2 – A moment of reflection
Use today’s question as a journal prompt. If you don’t have the time to sit down and write, just take a moment to reflect on your response.
Expressing joy vs. Seeking Joy: Sadhguru says “The most beautiful moments in life are moments when you are expressing your joy, not seeking it.” There’s a fine line in the distinction between these two, but they really are different. When in your life have you been in “seeking joy” mode, and when do you remember being in “expressing joy” mode? What’s the difference in how these feel in your body, mind, and heart? What would it look like to shift more of your life from seeking to expressing?
3 – Quotes to share
Send a quote to someone who needs it, or share them all on social media to spread the good vibes!

4 – Q&A for deeper learning
Read through the questions and answers and write down at least one “aha moment” that clicked for you.
Q1. What is the central idea presented in these teachings about finding one’s purpose?
The main idea is that your true purpose lies at the intersection of your deepest joy and what the world needs. However, the emphasis is on first identifying what makes you feel truly alive and doing more of that, trusting that your soul’s genuine expression is inherently valuable to the world.
Q2. Why is it sometimes difficult to identify what our “soul desires”?
Identifying our soul’s desires can be challenging because our attention is often dominated by the practicalities of survival, such as jobs, bills, and responsibilities. We spend years focused on these necessities, potentially overlooking the deeper longings and expressions of our authentic selves.
Q3. How does the pursuit of joy relate to our purpose?
Instead of chasing external sources of joy, the teachings suggest that our purpose is found in expressing our innate joy. When we are deeply engaged in activities we love, we radiate joy, and this act of joyful expression is considered a fundamental aspect of our purpose.
Q4. What is the significance of the question “What makes me come alive?”?
This question is presented as a key to unlocking your purpose. By focusing on activities that ignite a fire within you and leave you energized and fulfilled, you can identify what your soul wants to express. Doing more of these things not only brings personal happiness but also allows you to contribute your unique gifts to the world.
Q5. The text mentions that “the world needs more people who have come alive.” What does this imply?
This statement suggests that a world filled with individuals who are passionate, joyful, and fully expressing their unique gifts is a better world. By focusing on our own aliveness and bringing that energy into the world, we contribute something valuable simply by being our authentic selves.
Q6. What practical steps or mantras are suggested to help us connect with our purpose?
The article suggests paying careful attention to what moves you and asking how you can do more of it. It also offers the following mantras: “My joy is my purpose,” “I am a beacon of joy,” and “Every day, I choose to do more of what makes me sparkle.” These serve as affirmations to guide you towards aligning your life with your passions.
