Instead of trying to avoid negative feelings when you experience them, drop into your heart to sit with what your heart “feels.”
Your heart is always medicine to negative emotions because “negative” is an experience of your head. Wrestling with negative thoughts in your head pushes you into survival mode, producing the stress hormones of adrenaline and cortisol, creating a closed system with constricted arteries.
Take those same negative thoughts to your heart to sit with what you “feel”, and now these same feelings don’t push you over into survival mode because your connection with your heart produces Dopamine and Oxytocin, the complete opposite of survival mode.
Let me reiterate this point:
“Don’t push away negative thoughts and feelings, but take them to your heart. Your heart is always medicine for any negative emotions.” – pierre –
