Proof that love is the closest thing we have to magic!

A message from today’s meditation:

I want to remind you of the powerful force of change in the world, that is love…

You’re not a bucket waiting to be filled, you’re a radiant fountain, overflowing with love. Not just for others, but for every glorious, messy, magnificent piece of you. That’s the transformative magic of self-love. It’s not some fluffy, self-indulgent bubble; it’s the superhero serum of the soul, the ripple of kindness that sets the world ablaze.

“To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness.” – Robert Morley

Do you realize what really loving yourself does for the world around you?

When you really love yourself, it’s like your tank is full. You are whole, you don’t lack anything because you no longer reject any part of YOU. Your cup floweth over, and now you are showing up differently to the humans around you!

I’m going to try and really make it practical, try to break it down into a few steps as simple as I can:

  1. When I’m not full, when my tank of self-love is running low then I need you to show up in a certain way. I need you to show up in a way that makes me feel better about me. And I’ll be disappointed in you again and again for just being human and saying imperfect things and doing imperfect things, because my desperation needs your words and your actions to make me feel better about me. (What does it do to you, when I am constantly disappointed in you?)
  2. But if I stand in front of you being whole, being full, then I need absolutely nothing from you. I don’t need you to show up in any specific way because no matter how you show up, it doesn’t change how I see me. I’m whole, and that’s an immovable force.
  3. If I don’t need you to be anything for me, then you are allowed to show up just as you are. And if how you are gets no judgement from me… if being just exactly who you are does not get criticized by me, then you get to experience a sense of safety.
  4. And this is where the magic happens – when you feel safe, when you experience the absence of judgement, then you are finally safe to really look at you, at ALL of you. And in this space that is safe you will start to see even the “worst” parts of you in a different light, and your own acceptance will begin.
  5. You will realize that everything that scares you is just something that is frightened too, and in need of your love. And you will start to love the parts of you that used to scare you.
  6. And then when your tank is full, when you need nothing from anyone else, then you will BE this space that is safe for the humans around you too, and your wholeness will raise them up and call them to their own wholeness.

This indomitable force of love will ripple across the surface of the pond infecting human after human with wholeness… and all because you decided to fall in love with YOU.

Your unshakable self-love creates a safe haven for others. It whispers, “Be you. Boldly, unapologetically you. Your quirks, your scars, your dreams – they’re all welcome here.”

To me this is completely magical.

“Thank you for being you… for sharing your love with me… for inspiring me to accept myself… for helping me see the unique beauty in imperfection… for showing me that love is something you do; something not just to be said, but also to be shown.” – Steve Maraboli

“Love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.” – Brian Tracey

So, here are your guiding mantras for becoming a warrior of love:

  • Fill your own tank first. Prioritize self-care, embrace your flaws, forgive your stumbles. You can’t pour from an empty cup.
  • Be the safe space. Offer non-judgmental acceptance to yourself and others. Let your love be a beacon of understanding.
  • See the beauty in imperfection. We’re all works in progress, beautifully flawed and wonderfully human. Celebrate the cracks, the scars, the quirks.
  • Love the unloveable in you. Those shadows hiding in the corners? They deserve your love too. Embrace them, understand them, and watch them transform.
  • Spill your sunshine. Your overflowing self-love is a gift to the world. Share it generously, watch it ripple, and witness the magic unfold.

Remember, you are the change you seek. Fall in love with yourself, and watch the world fall in love with its own beautiful reflection.
